Engineering Services Examination

Engineering Services Examination is conducted annually for selection of officers for the engineering services that meet the technical and managerial functions in various fields of Engineering of the Government of India. IES officers are selected by the union government on the recommendations made by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). A combined three-stage competitive examination (comprising five tests), called the Engineering Services Examination (ESE), is conducted by the UPSC for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services.

Public sector undertaking

A state-owned enterprise in India is called a Public sector undertaking (PSUs Coaching) or a public sector enterprise. These companies are owned by the union government of India, or one of the many state or territorial governments, or both. The company stock needs to be majority-owned by the government to be a PSUs. PSUs may be classified as Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), public sector banks (PSBs) or State Level Public Enterprises (SLPEs). As on 30 September 2015 there are 7 Maharatnas, 17 Navratnas and 73 Miniratnas.[12] There are nearly 300 CPSEs in total.

Common Eligibility Test

The government is going to take a common prelims exam for the non-gazetted posts in the central government. The government has decided to conduct a Common Eligibility Test (CET) in place of prelims exams for all the government departments. The score of the exam is used to select the candidates for the higher level of examination by the different organizations for select candidates for the posts. The test scores will be valid for a period of three years and will be conducted twice a year.
